Wer auf dem Stuhl Marie Platz nimmt, ist angekommen - angekommen im Hier und Jetzt. Die lässig zerknitterte Polsterung der Sitzschale lädt geradezu ein, sich zu setzen, zurückzulehnen und abzuschalten - oder zu kommunizieren oder sich auszutauschen. In jedem Fall ist das Design offen, aufnahmebereit, wie ein Paar Arme, die sich ausstrecken, um jemandem, der einem vertraut ist, eine willkommene Umarmung zu geben. Ja, Marie ist ein sicherer Hafen.
Gestalterisch definiert sich der Stuhl durch die lockere Polsterung seiner Schale, die sich in einen filigranen Rrahmen aus Stahl oder Holz schmiegt, dessen hinterer Steg die Rückenlehne des Kissens in der Mitte einklemmt und so die entspannte Erscheinung von Marie unterstreicht. Wie bei Freifrau üblich, gibt es eine Vielzahl von Stoff- und Lederbezügen für jeden Geschmack, von klassisch bis extravagant. Der Bezug der Schale wird mit einem Reißverschluss befestigt und dann als Teil des Sitzes mit dem Gestell verschraubt. Ebenso kann er abgeschraubt und gewechselt werden - und wenn er das Ende seiner Lebensdauer erreicht hat, lässt sich der Stuhl leicht wieder in seine Einzelteile zerlegen.
